  • Catching Up

    August 27th, 2005 by Premee

Allow me to begin by once more congratulating my dear friends Marty and Vanitha, who got married on August 25th to significant fanfare and well-deserved joy. Oh, and guys? Just in case the videographer edits it out, I did in fact open my mouth (which was full of curry) and stick out my tongue while he panned the head table during dinner. Sorry about that.

Other pictures I meant to post earlier:
    Tina
Tina, our pet praying mantis back at the lab. Besides being divinely evil and an extremely elegant hunter of unsurpassed ferocity, she takes a damn fine portrait.

    Karla and Premee
My good pal Karla and I in Alexander’s restaurant for my farewell lunch. She also took me out for breakfast the morning I moved, which let me survive the remainder of the day with my father and brother. Yaaay Karla!

    Sushi picture
Clockwise from bottom left: Trish, Dana, Lori, and myself at Yohei, a fine little sushi restaurant, for my pre-farewell lunch (yes, I was getting an awful lot of free food in that last week).

    Dana guitar
And finally, my dear pal and soul-sista Dana at her housewarming party. This amazing lady rode 180 km alone from Saskatoon to her home town in order to celebrate the centennial, and headed the parade through town the next day! As if that weren’t cool enough, she also makes marvelous sushi, stars in my secret comic ‘Devils on Horsback,’ owns a trampoline (my heart’s one true delight), is raising a teenage daughter by herself, just bought a house, and frigging plays the guitar and the mandolin. Cool? Yes. Missed? Yes. Available? Sort of.

More pictures to follow after I recover somewhat from a) the wedding and b) the appalling stress of living with my parents again.

    Moving

    August 20th, 2005 by Premee

Oh my God. The scariest thing about moving back home will be like the scariest thing moving here: NO INNER-NET FOR TWO DAYS.

    R.I.P. Yuko

    August 15th, 2005 by Premee

This was supposed to have been an entry about my newest comic, ‘Devils on Horsback,’ but instead I regret to report that Yuko the Glo-Fish passed away this morning or possibly last night after a short strange illness involving 48 hours of cowering under a plastic rock formation and not coming up for her Tropical Flakes. Yuko leaves behind one survivor, Hiro, who will now have to weather the six-hour drive back to Alberta with no one to talk to.
The Tragic Toilet Thing will be performed at 6:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers mourners are requested to donate to a charity of their choice.
